CPA sleuths out truth on hidden assets

Richard Teichner is more than just a mild-mannered CPA. He also is involved in litigation consulting services and offers expert witness testimony in financial and forensic accounting.
“It’s looking for assets that have been diverted — hidden funds,” Teichner said. “This happens often in firms when one business owner is trying to divert funds from another or from investors.
“In family law, divorce matters, forensic accounting is necessary to find hidden assets as well, diverted funds. It’s basically an investigative function.”
Besides being a certified public accountant, Teichner is also a certified valuation analyst. The CVA means he is qualified to give business valuations for estate planning, acquiring or selling businesses, and litigation matters.
